James Vissari Artist
Hello.
I am James Vissari. I am a visual story teller capturing the ephemeral and preserving memories with my work. My art represents that temporary is part of the permanent and Fragments are part of the infinite. I am here capturing infatuation before the magic escapes. I am Making aesthetic interpretation in fine art according to taste then delivering it in its most immediate and pure visual representation with attention to personal influences about sustainable aesthetic value.
Currently, I am teaching drawing classes and paint mostly plein air oils. Recently, I have started painting in watercolor because my box of oils are to heavy to carry that far into the woods or down the path. I do a variety of work including cityscapes, landscapes, still life and portraits.
I have been an artist since I was five years old. I was fortunate to have been sent to the Corcoran School of art when I was seventeen years old. I worked as an artist part time until 2010. I have been teaching and selling art for about three decades.
I enjoy living in rural Poolesville, MD. This location gives me access to many beautiful things that I interpret in paint.
I'm looking forward to revisiting places to see how they have changed in the past decades and to paint them in the style that has developed over the decades.
I'm excited to teach students new skills and techniques that they can apply to their works of art.
