Grateful to be displayed in
Bassett’s Restaurant

three seating areas, including a three-season covered and heated patio.
The “Get Outside” Show has been chosen by the owner to be displayed.
Get Outside is a show consisting of Landscape and waterscapes. Rich in color, these paintings capture some of James’s travels around the country. Most are scenes from Poolesville and the local Agricultural reserve. Some are from Shenandoah Wilderness and the Island of Kauai. The largest is the piece “PA Land” that was painted as the colorful hillside approaches the hilltop view surrounded by the enchantment of the country. Beautifully displayed are views of our local surrounds as well. James depicts the Montgomery County, MD area in inviting interaction as the viewer is brought to scenes that would make anyone stop and want to stay a while.

is a large part of my Sugarloaf mountain paintings called, “Impressive Views” show. A show of impressionist paintings of Sugarloaf mountain from all over the surrounding countryside.
David from Riverworks Art Center had a space that this show was half in already. So, after thinking about those views and paintings. I’m emotional.
If you’re over there for the fire festival or what ever, please see why I have called sugarloaf “my mountain”. I know it’s all of ours. An attachment we all might feel. It was an inspiration to paint these.
This is a great way to experience these paintings. This venue is inside the radius of the views. It now allows a place for them to huddle together.
I hope you feel the same as When I ponder impressive views. ❤️

I currently am installed. At K2 in Poolesville, MD.
K2 is the second largest mountain in the the world. It is known as the most challenging of climbs.
“ K2 also became popularly known as the Savage Mountain after George Bell—a climber on the 1953 American expedition—told reporters, "It's a savage mountain that tries to kill you."[7] Of the five highest mountains in the world, K2 is the deadliest; approximately one person dies on the mountain for every four who reach the summit.[7][8] Also occasionally known as Mount Godwin-Austen,[9]other nicknames for K2 are The King of Mountainsand The Mountaineers' Mountain,[10] as well as The Mountain of Mountains after prominent Italianclimber Reinhold Messner titled his book about K2 the same.[11]”

The owners at K2 Cafe offer a menu of not just a coffee shop. K2 is a place to stop and have a perfect cup of coffee. Ashar makes mine exactly how I like it. He and his wife treat us like family.
K2 mountain snow melt provides water for drinking and for the agricultural of that region. I can only imagine the beautiful experience it must offer with the flowers and vegetation that would compliment such a sturdy anchor.
“Breaking the Ice”
Has been installed for the viewer to experience the slow down and exhale of excitement and daily anticipations. K2 can be a destination and journey. I imagine the beautiful vegetation that compliments the crisp mountain climbing experience.
Many bicyclists use this convenient k2 Cafe stopping place for physical and mental nourishment, taking time to say hello to one another while enjoying the moment.
Imagine all the flowers that must break the snowpack to greet us. The vibrant atmosphere at K2 cafe is perfect for this show of florals. Splashes of color harmonies accent the daily journey, aiding wonder and contemplation in inviting surroundings.
I’m excited to include for sale, my 5X7” painting of “Good Together” that appears in “Outdoor Painter”, the home of “PleinAir Magazine”.

I invite you to the experience. As we all climb our daily mountain, look for the fireworks that breach the ice and enjoy what is.
Thanks K2 Cafe.
